Profiling in Businesses for managers and staff
A business is only as good as the people who run it.
If they are happy, fulfilled and managing their jobs well, then you have a recipe for success.
The most important aspect of an harmonious team is good communication. Genetic Stress Profiling is a most
valuable tool in accomplishing effective communication in teams.
I start off by profiling the individuals who make up the team, then I bring the team together for a workshop.
The individual profiling allows each person the possibility to understand themselves better. I see many ‘ah ha’
moments when I go through profiles with people. ‘Now I understand why I behave in this particular way’ or
they laugh and concur when they recognise familiar behaviour patterns. Although we all think we know
ourselves, it is enlightening when an outsider is able to reveal all these aspects of our behaviour. They also
quickly recognise the reasons they experience conflict with some people. They become aware of what is
required from those above them, to help them reach their full potential. Many people change jobs believing
that in the next job they will be better understood and appreciated. However, had it been possible for the
communication between all staff members to be more effective they would have been able to stay where
they were and find the appreciation and understanding they were looking for.
It is essential to become more aware of how we respond when we are placed in stressful situations. When
we are under stress we behave in ways that surprise us, and those around us. We may suddenly shut down,
or speak out of turn or feel at a loss for words. Discovering how to manage one’s own limits and stress
thresholds is most valuable and then to understand those of others can enhance our ability to communicate
more effectively.
In all the teams I have worked with, the individuals were grateful for the experience. The process is simple
and they could quickly come to grips with the concepts and implement them. The teams worked much more
fluidly and when there was conflict they could address it much more efficiently.

Recruitment of Staff
Using Genetic stress Profiling can reduce the costs of recruitment.
There are many types of profiling protocols in the business setting, but none will tell you what happens to
an individual when they are placed under stress.
I met Janet when she brought her daughter to me for Sound therapy. I met her business partner at the same
time. They decided to start a company together, so first of all I profiled the two of them. Then Janet sent me
all the candidates they had short listed. They gave me the specs for each job they wanted filled. We were
able to hand pick each person carefully. Then we did a workshop for the staff and the two directors. This was
most important, as the directors had one style of communication but the workforce had a totally different style.
In order for them to have an effective team, it was necessary for them to really understand one another.
Over the years the company went from 4 members of staff to 15 members of staff. Once or twice Janet
thought she would save herself the hassle of sending me the candidates to profile. Sadly, those positions
soon came available again. She thought she could rely on her hunch and the fact that she liked the candidate
and the fact that the candidate had written in her CV that she could do the job. However, the CV did not tell
Janet how these people were going to react when things got stressful, as they tend to do in a marketing
company.
There is not one profile to fit every job, many profiles can manage many different jobs. It is what happens
to them as individuals when they are placed under stress that really changes their behaviour. Most positions
today are fairly stressful and it is most important to know who you are recruiting and how they will behave
under stress. Profiling is not a fail safe option but it certainly reduces the amount of unfit candidates. Some
candidates are not unfit for the position but require certain conditions to fulfill their potential. Knowing this
from the outset can save a huge amount of time and frustration and can greatly enhance the company
productivity.
